Yesterday afternoon, while I was catching up on some blogs, I stumbled upon Mary’s post on a workout pledge. Based on how many comments she received, she would spend that much time on the treadmill.
Knowing that I had to get some form of exercise after I left work, I jumped right in and committed myself to the 90 minute pledge!
Since I had a run scheduled for this morning, I decided to bring my bike out of its winter hibernation and enjoy the gorgeous weather we were having.
Can you believe this bike is over 10 years old?! I got it in 1999 during high school but it was hanging up in my parent’s garage until a year ago. You can tell I didn’t ride it much since the tires are the originals.
I left at 5:30pm on the dot.
I was planning to leave at 5 but forgot that I needed to fill my tires up with air and search the house for my helmet and gloves.
I rode 8 miles to the 13 mile marker on the trail. This mile is my favorite because of the view!

I took few minutes to enjoy nature (minus the bugs that kept flying into my face) and then hopped back on and headed home. Overall, I biked 16.2 miles in 100 minutes.
It was a great first ride for the year and I’m so happy we are getting back into biking weather!
Oh, and I’m not big on the whole April Fool’s thing, though I did think about announcing I was pregnant on Facebook this morning. I swear I’m not!

Are thought pictures of the Rail Trail? I totally ran there once when I lived up your way!
@Jess: Yes it is! That’s where I do some of my runs
Oh my goodness that is absolutely gorgeous!
I didn’t do the whole April Fools thing either. I am horrible at it, as well.
