Run, Reunion, and a Faire

This weekend was so busy, but in a good way! My Saturday started off bright foggy and early with my first run with Team in Training.

I did the five miles that my training called for, and for the first mile I was talking to one guy and my pace was a 9:30min/mile! That is waaay to fast for me since I usually pace around an 11-12 minute mile, but I was keeping up pretty well. I know I can run faster, but I’m taking it easy because I really don’t want the pain in my leg to come back. After I got back, I stretched, iced, and lied around the house until it was time to get ready for a little reunion with some friends from college.

The previous night I had run into a lot of people I hadn’t seen in years! It was great talking to them again.

This is Adam, who actually tried talking me into running a marathon this year instead of next year. I don’t think so! He actually ran the Philadelphia Marathon last year and qualified for Boston! I didn’t get the chance to ask him why he didn’t run in it.

Saturday night a group of us went to El Rodeo. We were there for almost three hours catching up and a few of them were trying to finish 46oz. of margarita! I stuck with water :)

There were so many stories being told and I can’t remember the last time I had laughed so much in such a short period of time. Can’t wait to get together with them again!

The next day we got together with some more friends and went to the PA Renaissance Faire. The weather was absolutely gorgeous!

After walking around a bit, we decided to start looking for something eat for lunch. I was a little worried because I remember I had trouble last year trying to find something healthy. I think I ended up with a turkey and cheese panini with the bread slathered in butter. Ew.

This year, I was in luck! The first place we stopped at I found something:

I got the Fresh Veggie Crepe. It came with tomatoes, onions, peppers, spinach, and cheese.

It was just okay. I wasn’t expecting anything great, and I was just happy to find something light and healthy.

Todd settled for one of the famous giant turkey legs. :)

We really got a good workout in, we walked around for almost five hours! Before we left we decided to sit down and enjoy some music.

And us girls did some shopping at a tea/herb shop. I got three kinds of tea: Honeybush, Raspberry, and Mango flavored.

Todd and I also got some Raspberry Honey, and Raspberry wine. Can you tell we loved Raspberry that day? I didn’t realize this until I pulled everything out when we got home.

Tonight is my first writing class, and I can’t wait! I have been wanting to take a class for over a year and I’m so happy I’m finally doing it. I plan on biking over to campus, so I’ll be getting in a little exercise as well. Don’t worry, I have lights on my bike for the ride back!

Have a good day!
