Spinning
The past four days I have gotten up at 5AM. This must be a record for me. I am loving spin class! It feels great to know that during the late morning or afternoon while I’m at work, I can do whatever when I get home because my exercise is done for the day. I even feel more alert, and have an easier time falling asleep at night. I’m now going to bed about and hour earlier than I previously was.
I found out that the instructor I like works on Monday, then Wed-Friday. I need a filler for Tuesday morning, and found out that she teaches the new class, BodyPump, that morning at the same time, so I’ll probably check that out.
Running
As you can see, I have not been doing the two weekday runs in my training plan. I figure, the less I run, the better my leg will feel. From now on, my long runs on Saturday will either be all walking, walking/running, or split into two runs depending on how I feel. To me, I would rather ease back on the running and finish the half in October than injure myself even more.
I realized a few days ago that I will probably be walking the half marathon, which is not a big deal because I know many people will be walking as well. I’ll just enjoy myself, and as long as I finish, I’ll be happy
Physical Therapy
Onto the latest news with my calf. I saw my doctor today and she recommended a physical therapist, so I already called them up and made an appointment for Tuesday. Is it weird that I’m a little excited? I just want the pain to go away!
The past few days I have been taking some pain relievers. No, I am not afraid to admit it! I rarely take pain meds, maybe once or twice a year? So, this is not like me at all. I have also been icing and using Kinesio taping. Everything has helped temporarily, but the soreness eventually comes back.
Fitness Bucket List
I’m jumping on the bandwagon here and making my own list. I’m sure I’ll be editing/adding things in the future.
- Run sub-2:20 Half Marathon (Disney? Maybe?)
- Finish a Marathon
- Complete a Sprint Triathlon
- Run a race in another country
- Take a Bikram Yoga Class
- Complete a Century Race
- Do a Set of Pull-ups (I’m getting close!)
and finally
- Lose the extra baggage and find my “happy” weight
Have a great weekend!
