After I cooled down a bit and decided what to wear, I got ready and headed to the hotel where I registered and got the giant bag of never ending stuff! I was good though, and waited until the end of the day to really look through everything we got.
Everyone had a delicious breakfast that included items by Stonyfield and Mix My Granola.
I had an Oikos Honey Yogurt with some Mix My Granola, a plate full of mixed fruit, coffee, and water.

I also split a Stonyfield Smoothie with two other girls. I had never had one before, and to me, it just tasted like a melted yogurt. I’m not really sure if I would purchase one. I enjoy their yogurt a lot better.

After everyone settled in, the organizing ladies welcomed us and introduced themselves.
To start the day, we had a fun icebreaker, human bingo. We ran around trying to find people to sign their names on a bingo sheet. It was fun, fast, and there were two prize winners!

Next up were the first two speakers, who I really enjoyed, Janel Ovrut and Cory, a.k.a Zesty Cook.
Janel gave a lot of good information, including what she usually eats on a day to day basis. I talked to her afterward because I’m interested in seeing a Dietitian, was curious about what she does with clients, and if there was any information I would need to bring to an appointment.
I have been blogging on an off for about 10 years, never the same one twice and Zesty had some great advice. Some I have heard before and some that was brand new to me. So I’ll definitely be working on improving this blog over the next few weeks.

I was reading a few tweets about how people were starting to get hungry, luckily we broke for lunch not soon after that.
There was a line of healthy food to choose from.

I had a turkey sandwich with cheese, tomato, and mustard. On the side I had some grilled veggies, and potato salad, which was really good since it was not too heavily loaded on the sauce.

I met so many new people from all over, including Jess, who was born on the same day as me back in 1984! What are the odds?

Which reminds me, I turn 25 in a week! I’m still not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing.
After lunch we all made our way back to the conference room, where we had a few more speakers.
We had Regina from Organic Valley speak to us about organic dairy farming and I think she made some people interested in starting their own farm in Vermont. She gave a great presentation and I learned so much more about the process they have to go through to become organic, and what is in non-organic milk. It was scary! Good thing I switched to organic and other varieties such as soy, and almond milk a few years ago.
There were also speakers from Body + Soul, who had a lot of information about what we put on our bodies and how green products can help keep our skin and bodies healthier. After listening to them, I made a mental note to check the ingredients of the products that I use, which may not be a pretty sight!
Next up, was Caitlin who talked about Operation Beautiful. We got to write some things down that we love about ourselves and a few people were randomly selected for a prize! What I wrote: On the inside, I love my compassion for animals, and on the outside, I love my legs that carry me everywhere.
We then had another break, which included a tasting of Pom Wonderful. I had never had it before because I’m not much of a juice drinker and it’s not cheap but it was actually pretty good!

When the break was over, all the bloggers got up and gave their own speeches on how they incorporate fitness into their lives in their own ways. I got some great information, especially about yoga, which I have dabbled in before but really never stuck to it. My gym offers classes at night, so I’m tempted to finally go for it and sign up for one.
The summit was concluded with a group photo.

The Swag!

After I got back to the hotel, I immediately dumped everything on the bed to see what I got. I bid on some Vegan cookies for the TNT bake sale that Caitlin was having, and won! I had one for a snack, and they were absolutely delicious! I may have had a few more since I got back
There were so many things in the big blue bag that I was a little scared I wouldn’t be able to fit it all in my small suitcase. Luckily, I found a spot for everything and was able to close it without having to sit on top!

There were more giveaways at the end of the Summit and I never win anything. I think the last time I won something was more than ten years ago. So, I was very surprised when my name was called to win a signed copy of Food, Inc. and a Stonyfield Yogurt Cookbook! I can’t wait to read the book and make some yummy food!

And of course, the T-Shirt.

It was a long morning and afternoon filled with fun activities and meeting new people, and the day wasn’t even over yet! We still had the Fisherman’s Feast later that evening.

Oh my gosh Josh and I love POM. SO GOOD. It is expensive, though, so we limit how much we get. Every time you post food I want to eat tasty healthy things. I do tend to eat a lot of that anyway, though. It looks like it was such an informative and fun time!
Great to meet you at HLS. Good luck finding the right dietitian for you!
